  Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was... 2024

  What had happened was... someone with narcissistic personality disorder had a stroke and of course had to tell the whole world about it. As if millions of people aren't living that shared experience on a daily basis, most of whom either pass away or do not make a full recovery. This was painful to watch. Foxx is talented - great actor, even better comedian - but this was like watching that one cringe worthy relative who spends the entire family reunion talking about themself and how special and awesome they are. Boo.

  "The Red Turtle" is why people like me go see movies. Wow. I'm not sure whether these are happy tears or sad tears...and it doesn't matter. I was able to feel so much for the past hour and a half. For someone like me, who is single and sometimes suffer from debilitating loneliness, it is extremely important for me to have those moments. Sorry for the emotional chronicle. Deep breath...
