    Loved the setting and the patient approach to character development but was let down by the "creature" itself. Worth watching if you crave snowy, small-town locations in your horror and don't mind a slow burn that takes it's time to let you get to know the characters. Great reliance on tension and atmosphere. Loses points for that final obnoxious CGI jump-scare. STOP DOING THAT!

    Years ago I was at a friend of a friends house with a bunch of people and someone put this movie on. Everybody in the room was laughing heartily as I entered an isolated nightmare state of disbelief. I began to question why I didn't understand what was apparently so hilarious. Slowly it dawned on me that there was something deeply wrong at my core that meant I couldn't properly relate to other human beings. Now I just live with my cats and never go out.

    This is actually one of my favourite Stephen King novels. It's a creepy, effective ghost story that, unlike so many of his other books, doesn't go completely off the rails in the last act.
