  bought this about a month ago on criterion and just now decided to watch. i feel like if i watched this 3 or 4 years ago, i would’ve been so against this. sexual violence is the main thing that makes me completely bitter towards a show or movie, but videodrome’s story delivers a different view. the themes might be more relevant than ever now, with the way we consume media and how it literally becomes an extension of us. the special and practical effects are obviously amazing, and i love the descent of max from the beginning towards the end.
