It's been a while since I became really invested on an array of work from a particular director. TIFF nominated a fully Mexican folklore-based film for a good reason. This film drags the situation from the conventional to the surreal and abstract so smoothly and accurately, you don't even notice when it's over.
I re-watched this film as an exercise, I still believe this as one of the best films I've ever watched. The subtle contruction within emptieness: motivation and emotion is one of a kind. Sofia Coppola's awareness about personal relations when it comes to in verbal and physical interactions is uncomparable and outsteps the averageness.
