A movie so powerful that I get emotional thinking about it. Writing about it is a far harder task. I needed this film at this time.

I see so many reviews saying this movie feels made for them and I'm another one of those. Perfect timing. This feels like a personal letter from Celine Song, not a film.

    I wanted to give it a 4.5 rating, not because it's not worth a 5, but because I didn't want to accept…

"The hopeless dream of being. Not seeming to be, but being."

The most thought provoking films I have watched, forcing me to stay awake and contemplate what I had seen. A movie that 50 years later still has questions unanswered, it showcases how important perspective and identity are to how we view the outside world. This film changes as you do, and different conclusions and themes can be drawn from different viewpoints. The first movie I have seen from Bergman,…

I like Bob Dylan! Music biopics are partly for selling box office tickets, but are also a great marketing device to increase streaming numbers for the musician(s) they depict, and this did well on both fronts. I prefer the first half before he gets famous as I enjoyed the climb and the struggle of how he balanced his artistry with his relationships. Timothée gives a great performance, Norton gives an underrated great performance, and both the supporting actresses are solid too!

An epic story about the American Dream, similar to There Will Be Blood, that would make for an incredible novel. While Brody's performance and the cinematography are what I've heard people give acclaim to, and rightfully so, I think the directing is what is most deserving. This story spans decades but is told so succinctly, the nearly 3.5 hour runtime flies by.
I think Guy Pearce gave an equally brilliant performance as Adrian Brody, and I give Pearce extra love…

Although I saw the twist coming, this film hit. And hit hard. I understand if this film is seen as pandering, but it speaks about a relevant issue that needs to be addressed.

I love patient films like this. The story was so relaxed, all it needed was Hamaguchi's directorial style, and this would be the most calming movie ever made.

I needed this story right now. It's nothing revolutionary, and it doesn't need to be. Life is beautiful and it's all in the eyes of the beholder.

I'm a fan of movies where there's no forced plot, and it's simply someone living their life meeting people. Nothing came off as too dramatic and every decision the characters made was rational.

    Koji Yakusho killed this role!
