  This is a movie with many layers to be enjoyed if you so choose to dive deeper. It's a story about a good cop running from the bad ones. It's also a story about an aggressor trying to adjust to a pacifist world. And it's also a symbolic story about those who choose to be a "Witness" to events around them and the juxtaposition to those who choose to act.
