Finished the week with a David Lynch movie I haven't seen yet and it was beautiful. Props also to rtvslo for playing Mulholland Dr. and The Elephant Man.

This film is suprising, smart, beautifully shot and acted thriller about a demon and a lady. Told in chapters that follows them thoughout the night and morning. I loved it, one of the best films from last year. Give it a watch!
Eddie Redmayne was shameless and good, but the real props should go to Alicia Vikander. She was truly brilliant and had even more character layers than Redmayne's character. The movie itself has a beautiful cinematography and great sets. But unfortunately it kind of lost me during it's second act. Redmayne was interesting at the beginning, until his character development stopped. That happened too early and a lot of blank facial expressions followed on his behalf. I'm not trying to make him look bad, but a better script and dialogs would have helped a lot.
Robert Eggers delivers a very grim almost black and white picture with great performances (Lily-Rose Depp), good visuals and respect to its original. Don't expect anything new, it's the same story we know and if you like Dracula movies then this one is a must watch!
I hope Eggers tackles some smaller projects next though. I like Nosferatu and The Northman, but he really shines in more intimate and arthouse movies as seen in The Lighthouse and The Witch.
