I’m glad this movie was made. I think the concept is great, and the execution is solid. However, it feels like it might have tried to do too much, and ultimately lost itself somewhere in the 3rd act. With that said, Robert Pattinson was pretty fantastic.

I’m not sure I’ve ever been disappointed by a George Clooney or Brad Pitt movie, let alone a George Clooney AND Brad Pitt movie, and this wasn’t going to be the first. It feels odd to describe a 37 years delayed sequel about a “trickster demon” as delightful, but that’s exactly what this was. This move understands exactly what it is, and stays true to itself while still existing as a modern film. While I struggle to rate this at 4 stars or beyond, it was expertly executed on a vision of one of the strongest movie characters ever crafted.
