I wasn't sure about this movie but then they timed that line about entering the 3rd quarter at the exact halfway mark of the runtime and now I'm convinced this movie is operating on levels I can't comprehend and I'm the problem.

Charlie Wilson's War 2007
There are some strong moments of satire and the punchline to the whole thing lands okay, but it sure made that final turn quickly. The mechanics of the federal government as dramatized are interesting and work well in the script; at some point I thought, “this story exists in some multiverse strand from The West Wing,” then the credits rolled and I found out why. It had its moments, and they were usually with Philip Seymour Hoffman.
