It's so refreshing and heart-warming to witness pure black excellence set during the beginning of the twenty-first century where slavery and misery seems to be the only themes in movies regarding folks of color.
Ignore the simplistic story as it only serves as background to these phenomenal performances. Such high levels of talent, joy and happiness! An entertaining delight that brings a big fat smile on your face for all of the numbers.
Sous un tonnerre de violons dramatiques, les crédits de Les chambres rouges sont apparus. Dans la salle pleine du Cinéma Beaubien, nous sommes tous restés assis pendant cinq bonnes minutes le temps d'absorber ce à quoi nous venions d'assister.
Dès le début, Les chambres rouges nous rentrent dedans. La mise en scène est simple et intrigante, la bande sonore transperce et hante, l'histoire est plutôt facile à comprendre… du moins, ce que l'on croit être l'histoire.

Although it took a while for me to adjust to the ugly — yes, ugly! — graphics coming straight out of a cutscene from a random Playstation 2 game, the adorable animal movements and sounds won me over. I legit cried at the last scene like...?!?!
