This movie is the stupid yet charming cousin that on Christmas dinner gets a bit too drunk and is all over the place, but it's been like this since forever and has no ill intention on anything he does, so it's impossible not to love him and appreciate the fun and joy he brings, even though he really should get his life together sooner than later.

P.S. There's no person or animal on this pale blue dot that doesn't want to own a hotel on a Greek island and have its life problems be that kind of life problems.

Two times holocaust surviver Adrien Brody (not my joke :[ ) shines in a bigger than life epic americana about surviving, art, pride, the sense of identity and the cruelty of men.

Sometimes it feels like it talks about a lot of things and sometimes you're not sure what is it talking about, and even though it wins the right of keeping you interested for 3 hours and a half, I don't fully understand what it chooses to do with…

This little, freaky, horror picture show spoke to a generation of people that wasn't being spoken to and definitely wasn't being appreciated it and told them "Don't dream it, be it" and 50 years later people still flooding the cinemas dressed as the characters to sing the songs and "be it" because love goes both ways, and this movie, in its silly camp way, it's full of love. And incredible songs. And a crazy ass makes-no-sense story that it's just…

I think I've never had a movie look me straight in the eye, insult me multiples times, slap me in the face and then make me apologize to it. It's impossible not to be with your mouth open in disbelief from the first minute to roll credits. A testimony of how is never clever to piss off creators, specially if they're named Hideaki Anno. He went beast mode with this one.

In case I wasn't clear: ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE OF A MOVIE. God I love Evangelion so much.
