I’m about an hour out of Dune Part 2 and I’m still thinking about it. Where it can go, will it go forward? It’s been so long since there has been good, intelligent and thought provoking Sci-Fi in a theater. Denis Villaneuve is a certified master in my mind. Arrival, Blade Runner 2049 and the Dune series have been perfect. I just hope Warner Bros. keeps its head for a change and keeps giving him all the resources he needs, and none of their usual interference, to keep going as long as he wants to. This can be THE definitive franchise of this decade.

I will freely admit that I love the nostalgia of my youth. And this movie packed it in like I never thought possible. All the praise goes to Travis Knight for putting it all together. Everything was just like I hoped the 2007 movie would have been. It looked amazing, the effects were great. And it had HEART! You could feel the love Charlie felt for Bumblebee. I can’t wait to watch it at home so I can pause the scenes and try to see every Transformer in the opening battle.
