  watched this on an overnight greyhound ride through the middle of nowhere ghost town california and it had me on the edge of my seat glancing at shadows and turning my head at tumble weeds. super fun and got a good spook out of me.

  wow! i can't think of another film in recent memory that has scared me as much as this one has. i think the bar and parking lot scenes were executed amazingly. the increasingly unsettling vibes, the gorgeous shots highlighting the victims and not the violence that becomes of them, the lack of glamorizing the antagonist, and finally the turmoil of each person who interacts with Rodney. Kendrick perfectly dances along the lines of subtlety and overtness in the horrors of violence against women and the ways it presents itself. will definitely rewatch in the future.
