Kind of a shameless showcase of his daughter on M. Night’s part, but she is talented. The whole premise was pretty shaky. I don’t think M. Night ever completely nails it. But there are always interesting elements to his work. The movie was a very culturally relevant slice of now. What it lacked in spooky it made up for with a spy movie vibe. Josh Hartnett was slick. He did a solid job. His affect was always a little “off” …in a very well done kinda way.

The Father made me view dementia differently. Is it that, as we approach death the veil between worlds begins to lift and we can’t keep our multiple timelines/lives straight anymore?
That’s what I took from the characters swapping around. Maybe the guy that was a dick orderly in one life was the dick husband in another..?
I am aware that people with dementia have issues with memory and time, but I hadn’t heard that they see people playing different roles.…
