Eggers’ Nosferatu is a jaw-dropping way to kick off 2025 cinema! The film is haunting, disturbing, and bloody, capturing everything a vampire movie should be. With a “less is more” approach, even Nosferatu's eventual reveal maintains a sense of horror, amplified by outstanding performances from Lily rose Depp, Willem Dafoe, Bill Skarsgard and the rest. It has a phenomenal cinematography, and a richly gothic atmosphere which sets the tone for the movie really well.

I expected a completely different film. The shots were beautifully done, and the suspense at the beginning was very good, but it weakened considerably halfway through the film.
The promotion for the film was brilliantly executed, but it also set certain expectations for me as a viewer that were not fulfilled. It seemed like a crime thriller, but ultimately it involves dark devil magic... a bit lame.
It felt like they tried to make the film more "complex" through certain…
