I waited 12 years to watch this movie 🤯 and that’s hard to believe since 12 years is a long time.
What a wild ride this movie was—yet arriving at the end of the road to be thankful that I have enough money to live my life but not enough to be a piece of shit! 💸
After just rewatching Oceans Eleven, I came here for the heist scenes. Seeing the various jobs being carried out it was cool to see the meticulous planning and contingencies that were considered. The attention to detail there was cool to see!
However, the rest of the movie just didn’t hold up in the same way (as, I think for me, earlier movies often lack in the plot, character and relational dynamics, and in emotional depth). The men were annoyingly bossy…
Who new a presidential movie in 2020 could actually be good. It will definitely make you wish there was someone in the white house with a shred of human decency.
Anywho. The real draw of this movie is the novel plot—the idea of a lookalike ordinary citizen acting as the president was fun and enjoyable to watch.
Plus the downright great acting by Kevin Kline, Sigourney Weaver, and Ving Rhames was the cherry on top.
Side note: Kevin Kline bears a striking resemblance to Robin Williams in this movie.
