Of the three most famous Emma adaptations, this clearly takes the bronze. Gwyneth plays Emma with three parts smug and one part earnest, and can't help but let her inner goopy LA nepo-baby shine through. Perhaps she is the truest Emma out of all of them, but she's my least favorite to watch. Jeremy Northam's Knightley can duke it out with the best of them, though. I never get tired of him chastising Emma and saying "Badly done!"

My patience for movies about twenty-somethings dallying about in New York City while they try to succeed at an artistic career that they are clearly shit at has run thin. Just realize you'll never be a professional dancer at thirteen like the rest of us and move on!

Whoever held Amy Adams hostage and forced her to do this movie, you owe her reparations.
