That was better than I ever thought it could be. Wow. I love Anya and Miles both, but this movie just hit every mark and surprised the hell out of me. The score was phenomenal. The horror was well done, and the romance felt authentic. Maybe could have had a slightly better climax, but still, damn good movie.
I knew it was coming, and it still hit me hard. I laugh. I cry. I yearn for being in high school, even though I know that’s not real.
Oh boy. What can I say? The hype for this movie was going to be a lot to overcome. And yet, here I am, giving it five stars. The performances were electric. Magnetic. Captivating. The score was enticing. Pumping. Kinetic. The cinematography was creative. Alluring. Exciting. And then, on top of all of that, you have the ending, which did what all movies only hope to achieve. It had all of its moments and emotions swell and burst, right as the movie goes to credits. All timer. All. Timer.
This was a hybrid of movie styles that I adore, and it worked wonderfully. Haunting stuff.
