obviously, this wasn’t going to compare to the first. the first is classic, and less annoying. The lack of Spielberg is obvious, but this movie has a few charming parts.
I loved the helicopter scene where the shark just kind of chomps down and they just hold on the so obviously mechanical shark. Mainly because this shark is adorable guys. They made it larger than the shark in the first movie, which is accurate as this shark is female and…
and the star IS for the fish screaming. what about it? if the shark can "evolve a sensitive sense of hearing to make up for the fact it evolved to be blind" (which. fun fucking fact i guess. SHARKS CAN HEAR REALLY WELL ALREADY) than the fish gets to SCREAM
if people get over their want for realistic shark CGI this is a great (bad) movie tbh. perhaps my standards have been MASSIVELY lowered by the 4 shark movies i watched previous to this, but this one I think I would watch again. The B-plots were objectively pointless and added maybe 3 minutes total, but i didn’t hate them. Very repetitive given they’re stuck in the same room.
Bonus half a star for realistic size of the species. and great whites are not unusual in australia
