Little Women 2019
At times Greta Gerwing’s reimagining of Louisa May Alcott’s classic was a smidge fluffy. But place this against the backdrop of a post-weinsteinian movie industry and the importance to present this work now is self evident. All female leads were simply brilliant with Saorise Ronan (Jo March) and Florence Pugh (Amy March) as standouts. The counterbalance of their two characters and their loving rivalry played out as pure romantic theatre of the highest order.
