  The most recent example of art that causes my critic brain and human brain to go to war with one another. On the critic side, I can see how much of a marvel this is, so I can forgive the things that don't work for me as an individual because it's in service of something bigger. Truly, no better approach to scenes rendered as memories, and the odd things we focus on in the midst of soul-shaking pain. Incredible stuff…

  As soon as the movie ended and the screen went dark, just before the credits started to roll, a large "L" appeared on the screen before fading into the director's name. That is also the most succinct review anyone could give this thing.

  Moderated a Q&A with several folks involved and liked it far more than expected as a result. It's aware of what it's going for in that midnight movie kind of way and succeeds at achieving that goal. It helps if you find Keith Morris as endearing as I do. Also, David Yow? Pretty good actor!
