The sneaky best vampire movie of all time. A totally unique perspective on the genre. Deeply upsetting and incredibly sweet, Let the Right One In is one of the most impressive movies I've watched in a long time. Characters are sympathetic and disgusting, the central conceit of the love story feels hopefully but it took the destruction of a lot of lives to get us to that point. It's a difficult movie to reckon with because it's so incredibly crafted…

Well, anyway, my mission is finished. And what next? To return to Earth? Little by little everything will return to normal. I'll find new interests, new acquaintances, but I won't be able to devote all of myself to them.

Once I realized I was watching a horror movie the greatness of this movie revealed itself to me.

Truly excellent performances across the board. I had heard rumblings of this movie being kind to Trump but I thought it quite accurately portrayed the pain and suffering a deeply disturbed individual can bring into the world.

    ★★★★★

Insane Boston accents, fighting at a basketball court, recalling your wife waking you up with the sheer force of her farts and Casey Affleck jacking off into a baseball glove, Good Will Hunting really does have it all.

Gus Van Zandt was such an excellent choice as director. His sensitivity and willingness to linger on shots makes for a palette that lets Damon, Williams and Skarsgard shine. The script feels so electric, the conversations so natural and filled genuine emotion. Robin Williams performance is so beautiful, the balance of humor and heartbreak. What an absolute treasure.
