Midsommar is not a bad movie in any way shape or form. It is an admirable follow up to Ari Asters debut Hereditary and succeeds in pushing the envelope of the horror/suspense genre. This movie was everything that a brain dead, adolescent would ever want. That being said I check both of those boxes and absolutely loved this movie. Although the storyline may seem messy, and the idea of a former terrorist and the Rock joining forces seems ludicrous, there was not a single moment of this movie when I wasn’t smiling.
