I will have to watch again because I was so distracted by the fact that Tilda Swinton’s loft was entirely shot in the exact loft apartment where a good friend of mine, the talented sculptor Malia Jensen, lived for years. The first two movies were so inventive and charming, and this one just felt like they'd poured the characters into a familiar "search for lost jungle treasure" plot. The last 15 minutes was sweet and a bit unexpected, but all in all I very much prefer Paddington remain in London.
This sucked so so bad. Basically just a poster full of cheap inspirational quotes that came to life. I might watch it again just to infuriate myself.
Of the four stars here, all four are for Haraway and her ideas. The interviewer (?) seemed MIA, and instead of lending structure and direction to the conversation, we are offered dizzying green screen effects and bizarrely inept edits.
Please, someone put Donna Haraway in front of a smart interviewer willing to ask actual questions and help the viewer close the distance between our common perspective and her vision.
