I believe this probably worked better as a book.

The pacing exists on a geologic time scale, the constant POV shifts are more jarring than they are interesting. It's frequently impossible to tell what is happening because you can't tell who's "eyes" you're looking through. When the camera switches to "floating" behind the POV character, the coherence screeches to a halt.

As visually interesting as this movie is, and as viscerally dark as it is, it's hard to say that I got anything of any use out of if becasue of how slow it was and how the visual storytelling was frequently incomprehensible

No part of this was for me. I am not Irish or British. I am not Catholic or Protestant. I *only* speak English. I am AMERICAN for f*cks sake.

    This movie fucking rules!

I have loved this show since I saw their performance at the Tony’s . The cast album is wonderful and I might openly weep when I listen to it.

This is the only way I was likely to see a performance and it was everything I had hoped. It was fun, touching, inspirational and so very brilliantly performed and staged.

Especially the staging, the rehearsals and fore this but have been EXHAUSTING in their complexity.

The one criticism I have is…

    ★★

The Sea Beast is a stunningly beautiful movie.

Nothing else about it is really noteworthy; the story is unoriginal, the characters are mostly pretty one-dimensional, the voice acting is nothing special it’s all just kind of … blah.

But it is gorgeous! The animation, particularly the water effects, are incredible. There are shots that are so photorealistic that I would swear they were real shots.

Unfortunately, that level of beauty and artistry isn’t enough to sustain interest in this wildly bland movie
