The Monkey 2025
Like Osgood Perkin’s Longlegs last year, this film’s marketing did not match the final product - in a good way. I did not expect so much time in flashbacks - they did a great job building up the characters before bringing them up to speed with us. While the second half is not as strong as the first, it does solidify this as an ingenious comedy horror - the final five minutes prove it. Don’t turn the key… 🔑 🐒

Robot Dreams 2023
A robot love story with no dialogue was done better in 2008 (Dog did not try hard enough to save Robot from the beach.)
What could have been a great 28 minute short film was bloated in to a too-long 1hr 42 mins feature film with filler interludes that make you lose the soul of the story.
The animation style is the only redeemable quality to a lackluster plot that makes you wondering when the “Next Episode” prompt will appear on screen in the middle of the film.
