  ok so this film was absolutely gorgeous and well made. visuals✅ music✅ acting✅ sideways credit roll🆒. there was so much momentum built up in the first part that i think it’s flawless imo.

  however, there are some parts from part 2 that i just felt were very rushed or shoehorned in without any build up, ex. erzébet confronting the van burens. 

  and the epilogue especially. such a hard tonal shift music-wise that it felt like some decision just tacked on.…

  i loved everything about this movie. the opening sequence, thomas walking down a snowy crossroads, immensely bad vibes between count orlok and thomas in the castle, willem dafoe, orlok’s hand reaching over the city. cinematography and costuming ugh spectacular *chef’s kiss*
