Absolute incredible presentation and style. Makeup effects are great and David Cronenberg influenced set pieces were done well. Thought it was brilliant until the last 15 minutes. Surprised it wasn’t nominated for best cinematography.

Cléo from 5 to 7 1962
Cléo is filmed in a way like Alfred Hitchcock’s Rope and almost seems like a possible influence on Richard Linklater’s Before Sunset. The film takes place in real time and is accurate is presenting its hour and half narrative in an hour and half on Cléo. Cleo herself is a complex character who is wondering about the results of her medical test. This was a film I saw a ton of great reviews and I have to agree that it is purely amazing. I wish the film was longer though as I could watch Cléo do anything honestly and still be entertained.

Solaris 1972
Out of the three other Andrei Tarkovsky films I have seen: Ivan's Childhood, Andrei Rublev, and Stalker, Solaris has to be my favorite. I have seen reviews and ratings of people saying this movie is slow and not one of Tarkovsky's best but I have to disagree. I found that watching Solaris is a nightmare experience that had many parts where I was absolutely terrified.
In particular, when Kris gets on station orbiting Solaris and is looking around the station…
