Leviathan 2023
A beautiful film that took me by surprise, and an exciting amalgam of technique, vision and wonder. Perhaps Leviathan refers to God's power over Man or that we are all fighting against an insurmountable enemy or inevitable failure, however, a perfect reading or defined meaning is never intended since the film prefers to tread these notions while using the more sensory language of cinema. What is explored is light or the absence thereof. Light and darkness. Shadow and form. Silence. I look forward to seeing what comes next...
