Watching Deewar again with full attention and a deeper understanding of politics as an adult, I loved it so much more. I still feel the dialogues don’t sound very conversational—they follow a deliberate structure, built around punchlines—but they are undeniably impactful. It's peak masala writing by Salim-Javed.
