A very unapologetically bold movie, that considering when it came out, was quite an unforgiving time in terms of diet culture, worshipping the thin ideal etc.
It dares to tread uncomfortable & complicated waters in a honest and simple portrayal of a mom and daughter who are at large, different in every way.

From the first few minutes of it beginning, I just knew I was witnessing great art.
Audio & visual feast to the senses. Almost every still felt so deliberate, like if I missed it, I was missing something important. Many scenes made me feel anxious and even increased my heart rate considerably.
The movie was so detailed in it’s depiction of American “diplomacy”, administration, power and politics and did an amazing job trying to capture the complexity of that precarious time. To be honest, my only regret was not doing enough homework before watching it. Going to do that immediately whilst listening to the score.
