  Watched an untinted print with a terrible score.

  The fact it was still so gripping is a testament to Murnaus framing and editing.

  Gonna go watch this for the third time but mute the score and play Perverts by Ethel Cain over it.

  The first hour is intriguing it’s fractured conversations unanswered questions and costume changes keep us attentive and invested in the premise. The visit to the house and the meal are delightfully anxious but already Kaufman is running out of quirks and has nothing really meaningful to say. Any inklings of an idea are dashed by the ending which renders any point made by Lucy invalid in a disgusting twist.
