This is the 18th Godzilla film that I’ve seen and holy shit, this is the best.
Not only do we get some of the greatest, most terrifying Godzilla scenes, but Godzilla Minus One has by far the most compelling human arc that’s been put to screen in a Godzilla film.

Bergmans style in slow auteur cinema, usually works for me and impacts me greatly, however I’m feeling a bit disappointed with Cries and Whispers.
Unlike other films of Bergmans where it’s slow cinema backed by the exploration of character relationships such as what we see in Persona and Autumn Sonata, Cries and Whispers just felt uninteresting to me in comparison to the standard set in other Bergman films.
I still thoroughly enjoyed this film but have to admit I am a bit disappointed.
This is THE one.
Oppenheimer is without question, Christopher Nolan’s best film hands down.
If I was only able to catch it in IMAX…
