  Nothing particularly groundbreaking but still a solid action film with a fantastic cast that made for a pretty entertaining watch. 

  Also this might be the only film I’ve seen starring Sean Bean in which he doesn’t die horribly, well done Sean.

  With a strong cast, Bergman’s thoughtful writing and Fischer’s eerily beautiful cinematography it’s easy to see why this film is often cited as being one of the greatest of all time. The use of somewhat campy anachronisms against a bleak backdrop of a plague ridden country combine to create a feeling of hope in the face of the inevitable, Death.
