my friend and I walked into the cinema and opted to watch this without an inkling of what it was about. yours truly was already on the brink of tears from a neuroscience exam she had completed half an hour prior, only to realise that this film was about the very same aphasia she had spent 3 hours writing about.

june again treats dementia with lucid wit and in a manner that I’m yet to see elsewhere. you find yourself adoring june all the while aching about the fact that in a matter of time, she’ll no longer be june again. bittersweet and terrific.

The only thing Lorena did wrong was throwing it out the window instead of in a blender. She should’ve cauterized that thang when she had the chance ✂️
