I was expecting a historical recounting of the scientific breakthroughs and events that led to the construction of the atomic bomb but oppenheimer was much more than that. the cinematography alone draws you out of chronology of events and makes you focus on the humanity of each character. What a film. *spoilers* the multiverse as a concept has taken over the box office but for some reason it didn’t feel tacky when it was done in this movie. I found 2 main themes: utilitarianism and deternism, both kinda conflicting eachother. Save the few to save the many? This is usually a plot trope found in villains like thanos who wipes half the planet but in this movie, it’s the “good guys” (not to miles). Animations were brilliant and so creative, made you feel immersed in a whole new world, used different frame rates on each character. 9/10 film. Excited for the next one.
