Watched this at Cineteca Nacional and people clapped in the end. It doesn't get more dystopian than that.
I liked this movie, the stunning view at all times is mesmerizing, but I can't help but think I missed something as I was watching it, It feels like you have to had been at Napoles to get some context.
I learned about Parthenope's myth afterwards, and I find that this is a good interpretation of it, as well as a subtle discussion about the power of beauty, but the script kept Parthenope's character as a pretty face, more than anything towards the end, no substance, which falls flat.
Oh boy haven't I seen the "if you want true love" line all over the internet and I thought it meant something before watching this. It's so painful to go through this movie and I hate that it has to be so long.
I get it, ok, I get it we get to catch up while they're in the car and the intro at the airport, I get it that we had to look at them interacting with other couples…
