definitely my movie of the year - once i started crying i don’t think i rly stopped, just waves of crying a lot and crying a bit LOL. gonna include spoilers for my laughs later, moments when i cried a lot:
- “i planted the tree when you were born and you made me promise to never let anyone but you have the fruit”
- “i don’t know who i love the most, but i know i want to stay with you the most”
- “mah, you’re my number 1”
beautiful movie, use the time you’ve got and love hard y'all
first movie in a while that felt like it had some artistic vision beyond just fitting into trends in the industry! great for south asian representation and appreciated that the movie chose to use south asians exclusively, since that’s not something we get often if at all. probably would’ve been a 5/5 but the john wick moment felt like it dragged on a little bit, but i still appreciate that he had a vision - he wanted to be hero south asian kids wanted to see from their own kind themselves- let dev patel cook

“white man does it again!” nah i actually loved this movie, so good it had me feeling for the white guy fr! this movie puts words to so many powerful experiences in such a raw and unfiltered (as much as possible) way. somehow a movie about right person wrong time came at the right time, and it will live rent free in my brain for a long time. some of the dialogue that i want to and probably will remember:…
