This film was a seamless depiction of the Anthropocene epoch, its historical baggage constantly looming like a punishment on the whole of existence. It hints at fascism, hyper-religious perspectives, control over media, transforming social narratives, and the organic cultivation of love even in the most artificial situations.
However, it still didn't hit how I was hoping it would. I loved the creepers, I loved Pattinson, and thank you, Nasha, for everything, but I still felt the absence of something solid anchoring the film.
