Lots of fun and just a pleasure to watch. There's a real passionate earnestness behind this film that brings me joy.
Also that theme is killer!!! The Ground-Zero version on Plays Standards is honestly the main reason I watched this, and funnily enough I caught like twenty different parts of this movie that were sampled in Revolutionary Pekinese Opera. Go listen to Ground-Zero!

WOW! That was a lot better than I was expecting for 1920.
This film was riveting all the way through and absolutely oozing with style. I watched it with the score by Cornelius Schwehr which was excellent and added a lot to the experience. The painted sets are super unique and visually compelling, and the story is told wonderfully utilizing the film's limited tool-set.
