Restrained and austere, with moments of wit and full of great performances. An interesting parable and a mouthpiece for interesting ideas. It also struck me as a movie that will largely be preaching to the choir; no one who needs to see this will actually watch it, so it basically leaves us, the liberal audience "YAS QUEEN"-ing to ideas we already agree with.

"Child's Play" with a softer side, and way funnier than I thought it would be. What a slam dunk on all accounts. Hilarious, tense, good-hearted, and meme-able.

This is. The most. Visually exciting movie I’ve ever seen. An hour in I had to pause it and take a break because my brain and eyes were so stimulated.

It really scratched the cyberpunk itch I’ve had.

    TETSUOOOOO!!!!!

I love how this gives me the strangest sense of whiplash.

It has one of the most beautiful, memorable, and warm musical scores in film history. It also has a dark and menacing sense of humor.

It has wonderfully colorful set pieces, eye candy, and imagination for kids. It also has tons of proselytizing about why chewing gum is so revolting.

There's so much brilliance though, especially in the performances. Wonka is almost outacted by Veruca Salt.

But why such an abrupt ending and why is it so clearly filmed in Germany but everyone is either American or British!?!?!
