Hardly Working 2022
great addition to Grand Theft Hamlet, i'm only now learning about machinima. to me it was almost too real and panic-inducing to watch those senseless NPC routines, but the filmmakers manage to keep it humorous as well - even though the narrator voice was a bit annoying. and for a 20 minutes runtime, i thought that this was elaborate, and conveys as a strong and glitchy political message. maybe i should watch Free Guy next, or rather read Bullshit Jobs by David Graeber, or buy a PS5 and play RDR2.

starke fortsetzung - ich hätte mir weniger diskurskino gewünscht, finde es aber gut geschrieben und gespielt (die pool szene! die friedrich szene!) und an den entschiedenden stellen schön unversöhnlich. starker take auch zum thema prostitution/sexwork, und beeindruckend wie differenziert das thema in den film eingebaut wurde, auch wenn die storyline die insgesamte dramaturgie etwas durcheinander gebracht hat. die kuration der songs ist auch weiterhin überdurchschnittlich gut. besonders geliebt habe ich die liminale traumsequenz! und im abspann wurde erstaunlich oft regensburg erwähnt.

this film should be screened at every german school - it's so accessible and yet so on point and complex. but unfortunately, this will never happen in germany - in the nonsensical and deeply fraught political discourse on Palestine, i can't forget Claudia Roth's statement that she exclusively applauded the Israeli filmmaker at the Berlinale screening last year. what a horrendous low point of the debate.
