This film, to my mind, is probably the most detailed, sensitive and engaging portrayal of erotica. A first hand approach to passion, infidelity, bisexuality, or… long story short: Lust.
It’s admirable how a married woman of the 1920s had the courage to narrate such graphic - and for many “perverse” - stories in a time of sexism. She knew sharing her intimate desires would cause huge controversy coming from a woman, but still, she didn’t hesitate to publish her carnal fantasies, which years later paved the way for an era of fewer taboos, specially for women.Translated from by -
