It never fails to amaze me what great movies have come out of Mexico. Acting is very strong and I enjoyed the dark comedy and discourse and critique of traditional Mexican society. I especially enjoyed how well-paced it is. A close to perfect adaptation of Machen's The Islington Mystery. I truly recommend you don't miss it on Mubi!

Late Night with the Devil 2023
All hail David Dastmalchian, the scream king!!! Phenomenal performance and the ending was so clever I NEVER saw it coming.
I didn't know beforehand where the AI was used, and I never would have guessed it was the cards. A part of me loves this film anyway and wants to say whatever, but another part of me wonders what AI will be used for next if this gets a pass. I just think these two opinions will have to coexist…
