Weird, but cute. Mark Ruffalo’s character was an interesting representative of our current political climate, but seemed to have fun with the role. It made him fun to watch. Good enough movie, but left part of me feeling empty for some reason and didn’t come away with much. Cool to see some of these big names working together.

Captain America: Brave New World 2025
I don’t really get all the hate for this, especially when you set it against a lot of the absolute garbage Marvel has cranked out lately. Anthony Mackie brings a lot of brevity and thoughtfulness to the role of Captain America, and is also just a likeable guy. Some of the writing and acting was lackluster, but the action scenes were solid. There were some heartfelt moments that saved the day in my opinion between the performances of Ford and Mackie. Perfectly fine Marvel movie, and a good jumpstart for the franchise. Nothing to write home about.

I could say so much about this film. The idea sounded beautiful and profound during the promotions, and it delivered on every front. What a beautiful vessel to deliver the message of the importance of art to life, community, and humanity. The expectations are strongly set, yet the film found a way to deliver something unique, while still satisfying the viewer who came in with certain ideas of what they wanted to see. What a viscerally raw and real acting performance by the whole cast, it really feels like the whole production rallied behind this message. What a strong movie to start the year
