I liked this one a little less than the first movie. Once again, the CGI and story is pretty interesting. But the characters are missing something. Again, I feel that this could be fixed with a longer runtime to flesh out the characters more. For one, it was pretty established that Rocket was going to be Caesar’s right hand in the first movie. But now Koba is put into that spot. The movie treated them as if they’ve been friends…

Rise of the Planet of the Apes 2011
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Enjoyable film, but it did not entirely click for me. The CGI was pretty good as everyone had told me. Caesar’s character was interesting, but his growth seemed a bit fast. He turned on Will and Caroline, the only other humans who have been good the Caesar (apart from Will’s dad) pretty quickly. Also, Rocket was pretty forgiving of the new guy who just took his spot at the too of the totem pole. If the movie was a bit longer to flesh out the relationships between the apes and a couple more scenes of the other humans abusing the apes, it’d be more solid.
