    TPCC Screening

Described by the director as "an attempt to tell a story about storytelling", Anantaram is a vivid meditation on perception, memory, and creativity. Ajayan takes us through his life and specific events, trying to make sense of them along with the audience through visuals and words.

    I hate monopolies.

They are senseless, autocratic, and there's never any happy endings awaiting them.

PVR Inox, the most lost company in the world, which now would rather rent out their auditoriums for corporate events and stand-up comedy than get better at their jobs, has finally gained the wisdom to let better curators make shows.

    Hence, here's my attempt.

    PVR Icon Andheri.
    24th May. 5 PM.
Making all efforts to ensure subtitles will be there.
Need 19 more tickets to be sold to make this show go live.
An absolutely marvellous film- the best biopic of the 2020s.

    Please support it.

Fantastic classic opening which teaches you to believe not everything that you see.

If only the film had enough to keep this motif alive.

Humanity is an ocean. If a few drops of the ocean are dirty, that does not make the ocean dirty.

Reminded me of the wonderful Lebanese film Insult from 2017.

Eyes welled up by the end. A much needed story of humanising that which is being constantly dehumanised in today's world- the connections between people. The apathetic and cynical way of looking at every neighbour and every 'other'. Striking visual language, especially the way the arrest sequence was made.

This reminded me so much of Jusqu'à la garde but done even better. The Hitchcockian vibe, complete with subtlety builds up Dread, something even Soni explored. Ranks with Pariyerum Perumal in outclassing the Hindi mainstream and how.

The milestone it represents for giving space to an important conversation in just a short sequence is commendable. Beautifully shot. Great writing. Central performance was among the best I have seen. We know soooo many people like these.

This film makes me so happy and hopeful.

Not giving this film its due will always be one of Hindi Cinema's original sin.
