a Very Good movie that could have been Great if not for the time wasted on inane by-the-book scenes of teenage heterosexual love that ultimately amounts to nothing. ultimately the movie feels too brief to appropriately explore the character dynamics it builds the foundations for; Todd's grief feels a little over-dramatic given the (comparatively) little time we get to see him with Neil. less time on "boy meets girl" and more time on the homoerotic boys' club, please.
