  Blow Out 1981

  This movie is AWESOME! Super well directed and this is the best era of John Travolta. Camera work is orginal and precise. All the zooms and dolly movement are incredibly orchestrated. Also some of the best split diopter shots ive ever seen. Just a super fun watch front to back and everything from a technical standpoint is Top Shelf. Only complaint is occasionally the soundtrack didn’t feel like the right fit. Specially the construction site scene was underwhelming due to a unfitting score. The criterion of this film is beautiful and I recommend the 4K edition if you have a 4K player.

  For such a strange concept with off putting avatars and worlds, this was surprisingly human. As someone who is an avid VR user, I’ve still strayed away from VRchat. Not to say that this will make me dive in headfirst, but I do respect the outlet VR has become for people. Especially during the pandemic and beyond.   Never thought I’d see the day where I hit the “they don’t make them like they use to!”. Pixar use to write absolute flawless screenplays. This film hit for the whole family for all different reasons and makes you love it even more as you get older.

  I don’t quite understand the negative reviews I’ve  been seeing. I don’t know if the satire is just going over people’s head or they just think it’s to on the nose. It feels like people were expecting parasite without knowing Bong Joon Ho made Okja. If you like Okja, I can’t see much reason why you wouldn't have a fun time with this. The movie is fun.
