I loved the acting.
McAvoy and Knightley are intense and it's the first time Ronan makes me hate her.
She is that good even at that young age.
I just didn't really care.
I seriously don't get the low scores for this one.
It has quite the funny and satirical first part which transitions into a brutal slasher in the second part.
Pacing, cinematography and casting are really good.
People complain about the story but fail to see you don't need complex stuff all the time.
Or they don't get the comedy part?
Which is strange because I bet the all love The Office.
Netflix crowd?
I don't know.
Thing is: I liked it a lot and would love to see more Scandi/Euro slashers in the future.
Went in blind and didn't expect the religious undertone to this post-apocalyptic survival story.
But there's room for interpretation.
So that's fine.
And: short runtime, some gore and Samara Weaving covered in blood.
